MYFOXNY.COM - With no one contesting his petition to get on the Sept. 14 ballot for the Republican primary for governor of New York, Buffalo millionaire Carl Paladino will face off against Rick Lazio.
NY Post State Editor Fred Dicker says it spells doom for the Republican party in the Empire State.
"It was bad enough they had Lazio as their official designee, but to have to go against this tough guy Carl Paladino who has millions to spend attacking Lazio. The Democrats will benefit from that," said Dicker.
With less than $7 million dollars in his war chest, Lazio doesn't have much of a fighting chance.
"Lazio really doesn't have the resources. By the time it's over, you'll have Republicans leaning towards Paladino. In the end, I think Paladino will beat Lazio," said Dicker.
But when it comes to the general election, all polls favor Democratic candidate Andrew Cuomo.
