MYFOXNY.COM -- Gov. David Paterson of New York said Tuesday that the more frustrated he gets by anonymous accusations and phantom media reports about his supposed wrong-doing and impending resignation only strengthen his resolve to run for a full term this fall.
"I have not had any discussions with anyone about not running for re-election because I've said I'm running," Paterson said. "And I have not had any conversations with anyone about resigning because I don't know why I would be resigning."
Paterson said that recent rumors about the content of a forthcoming New York Times article are false. He said the Times interviewed him Tuesday, and the reporter did not ask any questions related to reports of his personal behavior.
Earlier this week, some reports and blogs suggested that the revelations in the forthcoming Times article would be so damning that Paterson would resign, paving the way for the popular state attorney general, Andrew Cuomo, to run in his place.
The embattled Democratic governor spoke to reporters Tuesday afternoon about the coming snow storm, but the questions quickly turned to politics, his campaign plans, and the reports of his supposed resignation.
He said he has every intention of being governor for the rest of this term and a new one in January.
"The only way I'm not going to be governor next year is at the ballot box," Paterson said. "And the only way I'll be leaving office before is in a box."
