MYFOXNY.COM - New York state Sen. Pedro Espada could be in big trouble if it can be proven that The Bronx lawmaker does not live in The Bronx.
Espada claims he has a second home in suburban Mamaroneck. However, that house is where many people claim Espada lives full-time.
Watch the report from Fox 5's John Deutzman (video, left).
Mamaroneck is at least 14 miles from where Espada is supposed to live. He also owns a co-op on East 20st Street in The Bronx, which is where he claims to live based on his election filings.
Election law requires that Espada live in his district at least 12 months before the election.
So what Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson have to prove is where does Espada really live. There are all kinds of tools such as issuing subpoenas to building managers, placing neighbors under oath, using phone records, tax records and surveillance video -- to name a few things.
