At a fireworks stand near Tacoma, Wash., women are selling fireworks while wearing bikinis and getting some sun. The "Nearly Naked Fireworks" stand in the city of Puyallup is causing controversy, but the women say "If you don't like it, don't come."
"There's tons of people always in their bikinis. It's 100 degrees out. There's nothing wrong with it," said Karie Jones about working at the stand.
But according to the Seattle Times , at least 17 people have complained to the city about the stand, which is on one of the city's major thoroughfares.
"People have their own opinions, but if you have a problem with it, don't come here, you know?" Jones said. "I think it's pretty low key, it's not anything huge. We're not taking off our tops and flashing everyone. We're just in our bikinis, out in the sun... selling fireworks."
Others don't share the view. "I have a family, and we think it's immoral," said Stephen Adams, a city resident to KOMO .
Puyallup's City Manager Gary McLean said there are no laws keeping the stand from being open, since there's no nudity.
The "Nearly Naked Fireworks" stand opened June 28 and will close after the July 4 holiday. Owner Rikk Martin is not sure whether he will open a similar stand next year.
