MYFOXNY.COM - Officials at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, Long Island, are proud to say that increased hand-washing by staff has helped reduce the spread of infection. They are crediting some cameras.
Hand-washing rates are up nearly 80 percent after the hospital installed a camera system called Arrowsight to monitor medical professionals as they enter and exit patients' rooms.
Officials believe that the presence of the cameras has encouraged staff to sanitize their hands before and after interacting with patients.
