Space Shuttle Endeavor is now set to launch Sunday evening.

Today's liftoff was cancelled after lightning struck more than ten times near the launchpad.

Fox's Phil Keating has the latest (video, left).

(AP) ---- NASA technicians are giving space shuttle Endeavour a careful inspection after lightning struck at least 11 times near its launch pad yesterday.

There's no evidence of any damage, but NASA says technicians will need at least another day to check out critical systems, so this evening's scheduled launch has been scrubbed.

A mission management team plans to meet early tomorrow to determine if all the testing has been completed and whether to fuel Endeavour for a possible evening launch. Liftoff would be at 7:13 p.m. if NASA attempts to launch tomorrow.

The launch pad has an elaborate lightning protection system, with sensors and wires to direct lightning away from the shuttle and its rockets.

Endeavour was to have blasted off to the international space station in mid-June, but was grounded by potentially dangerous leaks of hydrogen gas.
