MYFOXNY.COM - Michael Jackson fans hoping to snag a ticket for his memorial service Tuesday in Los Angeles will have to wait a day longer to learn if they're one of the lucky ones.

It will be Monday before e-mail notifications are sent instead of today. More than 1.6 million people have registered for tickets, but only 17,500 will be available. And only 11,000 of those will be in the Staples Center itself.

A total of 8,750 names are being randomly picked. Each will get two tickets. They must pick them up at an off-site distribution center where they'll be fitted with wristbands. They must present both their tickets and wear an untampered wristband on Tuesday. The ticket lottery for Michael Jackson's memorial has touched off a frenzy for memoribilia and registration for the chance to have a ticket.

More than 1.2 million people have registered online hoping to attend Tuesday's memorial at the Staples Center. Fans continue to gather at the Neverland Ranch to pay respects to the late King of Pop.

But Los Angeles police say as many as 700,000 people may try to gather nearby.

Some officials are urging people to stay home and watch the memorial on TV. The ceremony won't be shown on the Staples Center's giant outdoor screen, and there will be no funeral procession through the city.
