MYFOX NEW YORK STAFF REPORT

MYFOXNY.COM - The Vietnam Moving Wall , a traveling half-size replica of the famous Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, is on display on Long Island for a few days.

It is on display at Greis Park in Lynbrook through Monday, June 14, 2010.

Two local lawmakers hosted an event there Friday for Lynbrook's sixth-grade school children. Representatives from local veterans groups spoke to the children about the wall and the war.

The Moving Wall has been touring the country for more than 20 years, according to the website of the group Vietnam Combat Veterans, which is in charge of the mobile memorial.

After Lynbrook, the wall will be packed up and moved to West Hartford, Conn., where it will be on display from June 17-21, 2010.
