MYFOXNY.COM - The NYPD is investigating stabbings at separate high schools in Queens and Manhattan on Friday, officials said.
A 15-year-old boy was knifed at least 16 times by a fellow student at High School for Media and Communications in Washington Heights, police said. A 14-year-old boy is in custody.
Sources told Fox 5 News that the 14-year-old was being picked on and he fought back against a bully.
Meantime, at Newtown High School in Queens, someone stabbed a teenager at about 11:20 a.m., cops said. The victim was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital and was expected to survive, police said. The Daily News reported that the victim is 17.
It is not clear if police have anyone in custody, but witnesses said the attacker was also a student, reports said.
