NEW YORK - At least eight people were killed at two luxury hotels in Indonesia's capital of Jakarta and a US official says at least eight Americans were wounded in the blasts. Both hotels- The Ritz Carlton and the Marriott - are western based hotel chains.
New York City police have increased their patrol around the Indonesian consulate on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Indonesian officials suspect an Al-Qada linked terror group is behind the bombing.
National police chief Gen. Bambang Hendarso Danuri says police are hunting for other culprits responsible for the twin blasts. He says forensic experts are also trying to identify the remains of the suicide bombers as well as four unidentified bodies.
Police say at least eight people have been killed and more than 50 people wounded including 18 foreigners. Two Australians and a New Zealander are believed to be among the dead.
