Madoff's Offices for Lease, with River Views

Ponzi Scheme

A floor inside Manhattan's Lipstick Building has been emptied out and put up for lease. It's got great river views, and -- oh yeah -- the stigma (or novelty) of having been part of Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme headquarters.

The AP reports that Madoff's fishbowl corner office has been cleaned out, except for some cabinets and an old TV.

The FBI is camped out inside some of the offices where agents are studying the money man's records for evidence of more crimes.

But this is New York, and someone has to pay the rent for the digs the g-men are occupying. An industry group that compensates victims of securities fraud will foot the bill, the AP reports.

A federal judge sentenced Madoff, 71, to 150 years in prison. Madoff admitted to orchestrating a massive fraud that wiped out billions of dollars from investors.
