A 79-year-old driver apparently lost control of his car, jumped the curb and smashed into a fragrance and skin-care store on busy Madison Avenue.
The car hit several other vehicles before it slammed into the shop on Manhattan's Upper East Side on Saturday.
Watch the report from Fox 5's Barbara Nevins Taylor (video, left).
Firefighters had to cut the driver out of his car.
One witness said the driver seemed to be going more than 80 miles an hour and appeared to be unable to stop.
The driver and his passenger was taken to New York Cornell Hospital with minor injuries. Police said a taxi driver was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital, also with minor injuries.
