Mercedes Flies Out Garage Window

MYFOXNY.COM - You can bet that one parking lot attendant will not be getting much of the tip after he crashed a new Mercedes. And it wasn't an ordinary smash-up.

A new 2009 Mercedes was parked on the fifth floor of a garage in the Village that is also used by the Hertz car rental company. Now it's a mangled mess.

Apparently, the parking lot attendant had the car in reverse instead of forward because he may not have known how to use the equipment. The car features buttons on the wheel that change the gears. The car's owner thinks the attendant may have made a mistake, and backed out of the window.

The car fell down the back shaft of the building. Although the accident looks terrifyingly brutal, officials say the attendant was not seriously injured.

Sources told Fox 5 that a crane might be brought in to try to hoist out the car.
