NEW YORK (AP) - Firefighters have pulled a woman from the rubble after a large section of concrete stairway fell from the outside of a Queens building.
The Fire Department says the woman was trapped for about a half-hour after the stairway collapsed at 5:15 p.m. Friday. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where a spokesman says a woman fitting her description is in critical condition.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the 20-foot-section of stairway to collapse from the building's third-floor to the ground.
The Buildings Department says the stairway was on the exterior of the five-story building on Davis Street.
The Long Island City building had manufacturing space on the first floor and artists studios on the upper floors.
