Fox 5 Reporter Arrested After Traffic Accident

Fox 5 Senior Correspondent Mike Sheehan was arrested Monday night after a traffic accident involving his car and an NYPD officer on a horse.

The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. on North Moore Street in Manhattan. The NYPD tells Fox 5 that Sheehan refused to take a Breathalyzer test. He was arrested. The charges reportedly include reckless endangerment, driving while intoxicated, and injuring the police horse.

There are reports that the horse was frightened and ran away. The animal suffered minor injuries, and the mounted officer was treated for a leg injury at St. Vincent’s Hospital, according to The New York Post. Sheehan’s lawyer says the horse slammed into the car, and that the truth will vindicate his client.

Sheehan was arraigned and released on his own recognizance, pending a hearing on May 19th.

Fox 5 management is aware of the matter and is reviewing it.
