HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) - Police say a member of the Police Pipes and Drums of Bergen County collapsed and died of an apparent heart attack while marching in the New York St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Steve Dunne, 59, a tenor drummer, collapsed near 75th Street and was pronounced dead at St. Luke's Hospital shortly after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Drum sergeant Jim McMorrow said Dunne, a retired New York City court officer from the Bronx, was a founding member of the band in 1992. McMorrow said he was unmarried and had no children.
