Taconic Crash: Diane Schuler Sightings

Updated: Monday, 09 Nov 2009, 10:54 PM EST
Published : Monday, 09 Nov 2009, 10:54 PM EST

MYFOXNY.COM - Video obtained by Fox 5 shows Diane Schuler stopping at a rest area in Liberty, N.Y., trying to buy painkillers. But police reports indicate that about an hour later, a woman matching Schuler's description was seen on the side of Route 17 "bent over with her hands on her knees, as if throwing up."

Later on I-87, north of the Ramapo rest area, authorities say there were indications that she was sick or was going to vomit.

Police have said that Schuler was drunk and high when she crashed her car on the Taconic, killing eight people.

But the Schuler family investigator says police never were convinced the woman spotted sick by the road was Schuler, and that if indeed it was her, how could her body have absorbed so much alcohol?

The report indicates that Diane Schuler's husband, Danny, said Diane smoked marijuana once in a while, but her sister-in-law Joan said she used it on a regular basis.
