New York State Trooper Killed in Crash

MYFOXNY.COM - A New York State trooper was killed in a car crash in the Hudson Valley Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Trooper David Lane, 30, was driving in his patrol car northbound on Route 32 in Catskill when he attempted to overtake another car.

The two vehicles collided, sending Lane's car off the road and straight into a utility pole, authorities said.

Police shut down Route 32 near Cairo Junction in Greene County for a while as they investigated.

Lane was a four-year veteran of the State Police who worked out of the Catskill Station.
