MYFOXNY.COM - Authorities in Rockland County were searching the woods for what some witnesses described as a plane going down Monday evening.

Some residents of the Pomona and Haverstraw areas called 911 saying they saw a plume of smoke in the sky, according to reports.

Other sources have said that fire, police, and other first responders were actively searching for signs of a small plane.

Officials searched north to Lake Sebago in Harriman State Park, south to Route 202, east to the Hudson River, and west to Sloatsburg, according to LoHud.com .
