MYFOXNY.COM - The body of a Diane Schuler -- the Long Island woman who killed herself and seven other people in a wrong-way crash on the Taconic Parkway in July -- will be exhumed for testing, her family's lawyer said.
Schuler's husband, Daniel Schuler, told CNN's Larry King that his wife did not have a drinking problem and he refuses to believe an autopsy report that claims Schuler was drunk and high when the crash happened.
He said he believes a medical condition such as a stroke made her disoriented and caused her to drive the wrong way.
Diane Schuler, her daughter, and her three nieces died in the July 26 crash. Three men in the SUV she hit also died.
During Larry King's show, statements were read from representatives of the family of Daniel Longo, one of the men killed in the SUV. One said Daniel Schuler's refusal to accept that his wife was drunk is "appalling, offensive and hurtful."
Daniel Schuler's lawyer said enough evidence exists to warrant a second autopsy.
A private investigator hired by the Schuler family has said Diane Schuler asked for over-the-counter pain medicine at an upstate New York convenience store before the crash.
