At least one person was killed in a one-car crash on the Southern State Parkway in Massapequa, L.I.

MYFOXNY.COM - One man was killed when his car went off the road and crashed head-on into a tree into a tree on the Southern State Parkway on Long Island Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Witnesses said the 2005 Toyota Camry was speeding and moving erratically just before it drove onto the shoulder and slammed into a tree just east of Exit 29 (Route 107) in Massapequa.
SkyFoxHD was over the grisly scene. The car was virtually crushed in the impact. Police and other responders could be seen pulling the body of the driver from the wreckage.
The New York State Police is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
The accident did create a traffic backup on the parkway for more than an hour.
