Four fishermen are very lucky that two off-duty Nassau County Marine Bureau cops were also on the water when the fishermen's boat began sinking in shark-infested waters south of Fire Island.

Ray Pasieka, of Oceanside, the pilot of the sinking boat, says the two officers came to their rescue just in time. Moments later, the boat slipped below the surface.

Pasieka and his friends were fishing for shark and bluefish in the Atlantic south of Jones Beach Inlet, according to reports, when their boat began taking on water. They tried pumping the water out but couldn't keep up, so they radioed for help.

The two off-duty cops -- Mike Spagnuolo and Mike Larmony -- were also fishing for shark when they heard the distress call and went into action.
