Police on Long Island say a woman armed with a handgun robbed a bank in Melville.
Suffolk County Police say the woman entered the Madison National Bank branch just after 8:30 a.m. Friday and pointed a handgun at a teller and demanded money. She also pointed the weapon at other bank employees and told them not to notify police.
Police say the robber fled on foot after the teller handed over money.
There were no customers in the bank at the time and no one was injured.
