MYFOXNY.COM - Wal-Mart is paying $2 million to avoid criminal charges in the death of a store employee on Long Island. The worker was trampled to death last year during a Black Friday sales rush.

The man's family doesn't think the settlement goes far enough.

Watch the report from Fox 5's Ti-Hua Chang (video, left).

Highlights of prosecution agreement with Wal-Mart following death of employee during 2008 after-Thanksgiving Day sale in Valley Stream, N.Y.:

--Wal-Mart's post-Thanksgiving Day safety plan for its 92 New York stores is subject to review by two independent safety experts over the next three years.

--Wal-Mart will establish a $100,000 fund to pay claimants' out-of-pocket losses and a $300,000 compensation fund for those injured. Those who receive compensation will waive their right to a separate civil suit against Wal-Mart.

--Wal-Mart will fund grants to Nassau County social services programs and nonprofits: $1.2 million to Nassau County's Youth Board and $300,000 to the United Way of Long Island's Youth Build Program.

--Wal-Mart will hire 50 high school students annually for three years at its five Nassau County stores.

--Nassau County district attorney will suspend its ongoing criminal investigation. Wal-Mart admits no wrongdoing.
