MYFOXNY.COM - The winning ticket for the March 13 Powerball lottery jackpot was sold at a store in Morris County, N.J., lottery officials said. The lucky gamer bought the ticket at Gene's in Morris Plains.
The jackpot was worth about $212 million annualized, or about $102 million cash option.
This is the first jackpot-winning ticket sold in one of the states that are new to Powerball. New Jersey joined the multistate lottery in January.
"Powerball is fast becoming as well-loved a game as Mega Millions," said New Jersey Lottery Acting Executive Director Steven Palmieri. "And with New Jersey selling winning tickets for this newest addition to our live-drawing games, it is bound to become even more popular in the weeks and months to come."
The winning Powerball numbers were 6, 16, 20, 31 and 36. The Powerball number was 8, and the Power Play number was 5.
