MYFOXNY.COM - PSE&G said Friday that about 575 customers statewide were without service. Since the storm began on Saturday, crews had restored service to more than 97 percent of those out of power, or about 458,000 customers, making this the worst storm in PSE&G history, the utility said.
PSE&G also says about 3,000 gas customers in Passaic and Somerset counties are without service due to flood. Their service will be restored as floodwaters recede.
Crews are working around the clock. The utility is getting assistance from utilities in Ohio and Pennsylvania through an arrangement called mutual aid. About 200 workers from AEP and Duquesne Light were offering assistance in New Jersey.
Customers can find information on outages, flooding and restoration at http://www.pseg.com/customer/home/safety/outage.jsp .
To report an outage or a downed wire, call 1-800-436-PSEG and tell PSE&G the nearest cross street.
The utility provides electric service to 2.1 million customers.
