MYFOXNY.COM - Police are investigating a murder that happened during a robbery at a jewelry store in Kearny, N.J., Tuesday morning.
Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said the killing happened at about 8:30 a.m. at Rachel Jewelry at 397 Kearny Avenue. The victim was the store owner's son, according to sources.
Two robbers came in and fought with Javier Equavara, 47, who was shot as many as three times.
DeFazio said the two robbers grabbed a couple of cases of jewels and ran off after the shooting.
Police located security camera video that shows the men getting into a green car nearby driven by a third man.
