TENAFLY, N.J. - A wild turkey has turned the tables on residents in a northern
New Jersey town.
The bird has chased a mail carrier and pecked the tires of
his truck and caused residents in Tenafly's Hillside Avenue to flee
for safety.
Gary Zamchick says the bird chased him halfway down the
block when he tried to put up a garage sale sign. Zamchick says the
turkey "looked like the Road Runner."
The Tenafly Nature Center says it believes people have been
feeding the turkey and it associates people with food.
Residents are advised to clap, stomp and yell to scare the
bird away.
