The chief executive of Motorola and a fellow Rutgers alumnus are donating $5 million to build a football recruiting lounge in the expanded Rutgers Stadium.
The university's board of governors on Tuesday approved the construction and agreed to name it the Brown Football Recruiting Lounge and Welcome Center.
A year ago, the board voted not to build the lounge because of escalating construction costs and a decrease in fundraising.
Motorola chief executive Greg Brown, a 1982 graduate, and another alumnus who asked not to be identified made the commitment to fund the 7,600-square-foot facility to be built on the mezzanine level in the new south end zone of the expanded Rutgers Stadium. It will seat more than 300.
