Update On Mookie The Dog

MYFOXNY.COM - Good Day NY's Brett Larson first brought you the story of the puppy born with two sets of back legs. To make matters worse, Mookie was abandoned. Mookie has undergone surgery to correct the problem and is now doing much better.

The 10-week-old puppys front paws are in castsm but he's  up and about like any other dog.  Dr. Kristen Colleran- the veterinarian treating Mookie- tells Brett that the puppy is very active and gaining weight.

Pre-surgery X-rays showed Mookie's front paws were twisted the wrong way. The hope is that his paws will heal in the right direction.

So what's next for Mookie?  Dr. Colleran says a lot depends on the X-rays and how everything heals. Mookie will also need physical therapy.
