(MYFOXNY.COM/AP) - About 50 homes in Ridgefield need to boil their water when service is restored after a water main break Monday morning.
A 36-inch water main broke at about 5:45 a.m. in the area around Hamilton Avenue and Chestnut Street.

Several homes had to be evacuted. Cars were partially submerged. Three city blocks were flooded.
United Water spokesman Rich Henning says the break caused decreased water pressure for thousands of customers in Ridgefield, Palisades Park and Fairview. Pressure was restored for most customers around 8 a.m.
Crews shut off the water to the concrete main and were working on fixing the break.
About 50 homes on Hamilton Avenue were being hooked up to a smaller water line Monday.
Henning said normal service was likely to be restored by evening.
