MYFOXNY.COM - Two NYPD officers assigned to Vice President Joe Biden's advance security team were hurt in a crash on Tuesday evening in Manhattan.
It happened at at about 5:30 p.m.
One other person was also hurt in the accident.
Three police cars were headed west bound on 49th street and crossing 10th Avenue.. The vehicles included a marked police vehicle, an unmarked car and a bomb squad vehicle.
The NYPD says the marked car blocked the intersection with its lights and sirens on for the other two vehicles to cross. A livery cab apparently didn't stop and was hit by the unmarked police car.
The livery cab was carrying a passenger but the passenger was not hurt. The livery driver was taken to the hospital with neck and back injuries. Two police officers were also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Biden, who was headed to an appearance on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," was not hurt and reportedly not near the intersection at the time of the accident.
It is the second accident connected to the vice president this week. A sheriff's deputy was injured Monday in Albuquerque, N.M., when a woman drove around police vehicles blocking an intersection and collided with the deputy's car.
