MYFOXNY.COM/AP - It's an annual tradition: The lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree in front of thousands of spectators and a lineup of celebrity acts.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Tishman Speyer CEO Jerry Speyer flipped the ceremonial switch just before 9 p.m. after performances by Aretha Franklin, Shakira, the Radio City Rockettes, Alicia Keys, the Roots, Michael Bublé, Barry Manilow, Rod Stewart, and others.
Actress Jane Krakowski and actor Zachary Levi hosted the televised event.
The Christmas tree helps bring in 750,000 people to the center
during the weeks the tree is lit, according to Rockefeller Center
spokesman Keith Douglas.
