MYFOXNY.COM - Andrew Papandrew, the owner of a jewelry store in Valley Stream, Long Island, went right back to work the morning after getting shot in the abdomen by a would-be robber.
Papandrew says that two men and a woman came into his store Wednesday night. While one man and the woman looked at rings, the other man opened fire on Papandrew, police say.
Papandrew says that despite taking a bullet, he pulled out his licensed handgun and fired back. The gunman ran away, but Papandrew pointed his gun at Bryan Kenner, 28, of Queens, and told him to not move until cops arrived. Police say that the gunman is still at large.
Nassau County police arrested three suspects in connection with the shooting and attempted robbery, and are looking for a fourth suspect -- the apparent gunman.
Officers busted Edward Hamilton, 24, at his Brooklyn home late Wednesday night. They say he may have been the lookout.
They also have Kenner and Gloria Cortes, 20, of Brooklyn, in custody. Cops say they posed as the couple looking at rings.
Papandrew says he has been robbed once before and that scared him into being extra careful and vigiliant. He says that when these latest robbers began firing, he just reacted and was willing to kill them to save his own life.
Police say none of the suspects was wounded in the shootout.
