MYFOXNY.COM - A police officer shot and killed a man in Brooklyn Monday afternoon, the NYPD said.
The officer responded to a 911 call of a man waving a gun behind P.S. 194 at 3117 Avenue W in Sheepshead Bay at about 3:10 p.m.
The man pointed what looked like a silver handgun at the officer, the NYPD said. The officer fired three round, hitting the man.
Emergency Medical Service took the wounded 22-year-old man to Coney Island Hospital, where he died just after 4 p.m.
The weapon turned out to be a toy gun painted silver.
