MYFOXNY.COM - More details have emerged in the shooting death of a teen while inside a coffee shop in Flatbush, Brooklyn.
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said on Tuesday afternoon that it's unclear why Brian Scott, 18, was shot in the chest, but he was likely just an innocent bystander. There was no robbery attempt at the Parkside Donut and Coffee Shop on Monday night when he was killed.
According to Kelly, the shooter held the door open with his foot while he opened fire. There is no description of the killer other than he is male and was wearing a grey jacket. He ran off after the shooting.
Two other men - 20 and 23 years old- were injured in the shooting. There were hospitalized in stable condition.
Police are questioning people who were inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting. Cops are hoping surveillance video helps nab the killer.
Friends of Scott told Reporter Linda Schmidt on Wednesday morning that he was a very quiet and humble teen
"He's a known figure in the rollerblading community... the New York City scene," a friend of the victim told Schmidt.
Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, Police Commissioner Kelly said the NYPD Internet Division is looking at Facebook and YouTube - and any relevant social networking site- to determine if there was anything foul about Scott's shooting.
