MYFOXNY.COM - A Bronx mother was caught in the crossfire of a shootout Tuesday afternoon, dying just steps from her home.
Police said that Aisha Santiago, 25, was just coming home from doing laundry when someone opened fire on East 146th Street.
Some witnesses said the shooters looked like members of rival gangs. One bystander said one group was wearing red, the other blue -- possibly signifying members of the Bloods and Crips, respectively.
Cops said Santiago was hit once in the chest and died at the scene. A man was wounded in the leg, but was expected to survive, authorities said.
Residents of the area told Fox 5's Dick Brennan that they are tired of the violence.
