MYFOXNY.COM - New York Lottery officials introduced Mega Millions winner James "Jimmy" Groves, 49, to the public and the media Tuesday, presenting the Bronx man with one of those enormous mock checks made out for $168 million.
In reality, Groves, who picked the annuity option, will get about $4 million, after taxes, per year for 26 years.
He had one of two winning tickets from a recent Mega Millions jackpot.
Groves works at Madison Square Garden and recently defaulted on a credit card, so he said the winnings came at the right time.
He told reporters he plans to buy a new car, put his kid and grandkids through good schools, and give his mother whatever she wants.
