Toyota Tacoma Recall Announced

MYFOXNY.COM/AP - Toyota has announced yet another recall. The automaker says it's recalling about 8,000 Tacoma pickup trucks from the 2010 model year. The problem is with the front propeller shaft that could cause the vehicle to lose control.

A Toyota executive says customer service is the top priority for the automaker during its ongoing recall problems.

Toyota group vice president Bob Carter also says the company is undergoing a top-to-bottom review of its quality control.

The company has tried to quickly get past its initial gas-pedal issues and things seemed to be on track when the U.S. government gave the go-ahead on the fix that Toyota wanted to incorporate.

But seemingly every few days since then there have been new recall issues and transportation secretary Ray LaHood is one of the key government officials who is not happy.

"I want the American people to know and I want people who drive Toyota's to know that we're going to hold their feet to the fire on this," he said.
