MYFOXNY.COM - The New York City Fire Department is investigating a report that two emergency medical technicians on a coffee break refused to help a pregnant woman in Brooklyn who later died.

Meantime, a livid Mayor Michael Bloomberg called the medics' alleged actions "unconscionable." Barely containing his anger, he told reporters that "It was unconscionable, [an] outrage, pick some adjectives and stick it in."

The New York Post said the EMTs were buying bagels on Dec. 9 when Eutisha Revee Rennix, 25, had a seizure and collapsed. The Post reported that store employees asked the EMTs to help but they allegedly refused. They told onlookers to call 911.

The union representing EMTs said one of the medics claimed to have called 911.

The Post said Rennix, who worked at the bakery, was struggling to breathe.

Rennix was rushed to the hospital where she died. Doctors delivered her baby girl, who also died a few hours later.

Good Day New York's Rosanna Scotto spoke with Cynthia Rennix, Eutisha's mother; twin brother Eudane Rennix and sister Marva Rennix. Three-year-old Jahleel Rennix sat on his aunt's lap during some of the interview on Tuesday morning.

"It's like a whole in my heart. I ache for the child. When I look into his eyes I see her," said Cynthia Rennix.

"This is the hardest thing I've ever had to go through. She would give me advice... and she knew what to tell me to make me feel better." said Eudane Rennix.

As for a statement made this week from the union representing the EMTs suggesting the pair may have been overworked or unqualified to help Cynthia Rennix, the family had this to say:

"They should do their jobs. They should be more concerned and caring."

No FDNY brass would driectly comment, but the "matter is under investigation by the Department," said a spokesperson, in a statement.
