Alexa Ray Joel Recovering With Star Dad

NEW YORK - A publicist says Alexa Ray Joel is recovering with her pop star father, two days after being treated at a New York hospital for a possible overdose of pills.

Publicist Claire Mercuri declined Monday to say where the daughter of Billy Joel and supermodel Christie Brinkley was staying. The Rock 'n' Roll Hall-of-Famer has homes in Manhattan and
on eastern Long Island.

His daughter, who's 23, was hospitalized for several hours Saturday after police received a 911 call saying she had taken several pills.

On her MySpace page, Joel says she attended New York University for a short time before dropping out to focus on her music career.

She described herself this summer on the page as "forgotten" and said it was hard to meet a nice guy.
