VALLEY COTTAGE, N.Y. - Police have found the car of a man wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of a teacher in Rockland County. His car was parked outside of his parent's condo in New City.
LoHud.com reported that police want to question Eric Lau, 32, a neighbor who was home at the time of the homicide.
Counseling is being offered to schoolchildren following the beating and stabbing death of a teacher in her home in Valley Cottage. Jami Erlich's body was found Sunday night.
If you have any information about Lau, you're asked to call Clarkstown Police at 845-639-5800.
On Monday night, parents crowded into Robert P. Connor Elementary School in Suffern to discuss how to break the news to their children.
Suffern Police Chief Clarke Osborn, who's also a school board member, worked with Erlich as a drug education officer.
Osborn called Erlich "one of the nicest persons you ever met."
He said the kids "adored her."
The physical education teacher earned her degree at Ithaca College.
