Idling Auto Fumes Kill Queens Man, Injures Woman

Police say fumes from an unoccupied vehicle that was idling in a garage seeped into a bedroom killing a Queens man and seriously injuring a woman.

Police were summoned to a home on 141 Street in Queens Saturday night where they found a couple unconscious and unresponsive.

The 79-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The 69-year-old woman was taken to Jacobi Medical Center where she was listed in serious but stable condition.

Police are still investigating the cause of death but say no criminality is suspected.
