MYFOX NEW YORK STAFF REPORT
MYFOXNY.COM - A joint NYPD-FDNY rescue team in Haiti pulled two children alive from the rubble of a two-story building in Port-au-Prince on Tuesday night, the police department said.
The children were severely dehydrated, said Paul Browne, the NYPD's deputy commissioner of public information. They had been trapped in the collapsed building for a week.
The rescuers rushed the 8-year-old boy and the 10-year-old girl to an Israeli tent hospital where they are being treated.
The team found the bodies of three other children at the same site earlier Tuesday, Browne said. The rescuers have found four other survivors in the rubble since arriving on Saturday.
