MYFOXNY.COM - Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites are being used by people who are trying to find out about the Haiti earthquake and raise relief funds.
The term Haiti Earthquake Twitter is trending high on searches, as well.
Twitter is the only form of communication for many people on Haiti after Tuesday's 7.0 magnitude earthquake.
People uploaded pictures and updated the situation on the ground while news crews scrambled to report the tragedy.
The Red Cross (@redcross) is also tweeting for support: "You can text "HAITI" to 90999 to donate $10 to Red Cross relief efforts in #haiti."
Famous Haitian native Wyclef Jean used Twitter to ask people to donate by texting "Yele" to 501501, which will automatically donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund (it will be charged to the texter's mobile phone bill.)
