Fundraiser for Cancer-Stricken Long Island Teen

MYFOXNY.COM - For one 14-year-old Long Island boy, a race held Thursday will help him win his fight against cancer.
Doctors recently diagnosed Hodgkin's lymphoma in Tyler Ponzio. The disease has sidelined the star athlete and 9th grade student from Connetquot.
To help raise money for his treatments, a fundraiser called teachers for Ty was held at Ronkonkoma Middle School. By the looks of the size of the crowd, it seems like the entire Connetquot community is now rooting for his recovery.
This event is just one of many fundraisers being held for Ty. So far supporters have already raised thousands of dollars by selling T-shirts and bracelets.
