A Colorado sheriff believes the runaway balloon drama that unfolded Thursday afternoon was not a hoax, even as bloggers debate its credibility.
Fort Collins Sheriff Jim Alderman says his investigators will again interview the Heene family to clarify a statement made during a CNN broadcast when six-year-old Falcon Heene said "we did this for a show."
Falcon was found hiding in a cardboard box in his family's garage after being feared aboard a homemade helium balloon that hurtled 50 miles through the sky on live television.
MyFoxDetroit.com blogger Rita Schultz posted, "I believe the boy in the balloon was a hoax. Sounds like they love the spotlight now that they have been on a reality show and just trying to get more publicity now."
So if the story proves to be a hoax, what kind of legal ramifications would it hold for the Heene parents?
FOX 2 Legal Analyst Charlie Langton weighs in on the topic and describes what could happen in the video player to the left.
