A long line of political and religious dignitaries attended the 64th annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
This year's special guest speaker was Adm. Michael Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
This was also Archbishop Timothy Dolan's first time attending the dinner as the Archbishop of New York.
Fox 5 News was the only TV news crew there. Chief Political Correspondent Dick Brennan interviewed Dolan as well as Edward Cardinal Egan, Mayor Mike Bloomberg, Sen. Chuck Schumer, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, and former Mayor Ed Koch.
The annual charity event and the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation have raised millions to provide support for the sick, poor, and underprivileged children in Greater New York, regardless of their race, creed, or color.
