MYFOXNY.COM - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's ballot was rejected by a scanning machine on Tuesday after he voted for two Senate candidates instead of one.
The Associated Press reports that the Republican governor was given the choice of filling out a new ballot or not having his Senate choice count. He chose to cast a fresh ballot.
Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina is the front-runner on the Republican Party's ticket for U.S. Senate, which also includes former Congressman Tom Campbell and state Assemblyman Chuck DeVore.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger had urged Californians to vote in favor of a measure that would dramatically alter the state's primary process. Voting for two candidates was not one of the proposed reforms.
Instead of candidates from the Democratic and Republican parties running in separate contests and the winners facing off in a general election, Proposition 14 would have all candidates run together in an open primary format. The two candidates with the most votes would run again in the general election, regardless of party affiliation.
That ballot measure is one of five that California voters are looking at today.
