ESPN baseball analyst Steve Phillips, the former general manager of the Mets, has admitted to having a steamy affair with a production assistant at the network. Her name is Brooke Hundley and she is 22. Phillips, 46, is married.
After news of the affair broke, photos of Hundley began to surface on gossip and news Web sites. The New York Post had pictures showing Phillips and Hundley posing together. In one solo pic, Hundley is seen wearing bunny ears and blowing a kiss at the camera.
Phillips has taken a leave of absence from ESPN, the AP reported. In a statement, he said that he is sorry to have "put his family and colleagues through this."
Phillips told police that Hundley became "obsessive and delusional" after he left her, but he did not file criminal charges.
The New York Daily News reported that Hundley, a 2008 graduate of Ithaca College, has worked at HBO, ABC and NBC Sports as well as ESPN.
